Obituary for Cliff Newman

Cliff Newman ~ At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 17, 2019, Mr. Clifford Bruce Newman of Listowel, and formerly Millbank, in his 88th year.

Dearly loved Husband of Beth (Hall) Newman. Father of John & Barb Newman of Point Clark, Jim & Nancy Newman of Kincardine, Ted & Shelley Newman of Milverton, and Paul & Janice Newman of Listowel. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and loved by many nieces and nephews. Brother of Mel & Evelyn Newman of Edmonton, AB, and Marilyn Schmidt of Kitchener, and brother-in-law of Marjorie Newman of Harriston.

Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Gladys Newman, brothers Eddie & Rose Newman, Harold & Doris Newman, Dave & Isabelle Newman, Laverne & Roberta Newman, and Carl Newman, sister Lucille & George Rosenblath, and brother-in-law Ken Schmidt.

Cliff was a proud member and Past President of the Dairymen’s Association of Western Ontario, a Past President and long time member of the Listowel Curling Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and the United Church of Canada. Cliff was also the Secretary Treasurer and Business Mgr at the Millbank Cheese and Butter Company for 20 years and was instrumental in transitioning the business into the automated world.

Visitation will be held at Trinity United Church, Listowel on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A time of reminiscence and reflection will be held in the Trinity United Church Hall immediately following the service. Spring interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
