Condolence: Our Dear Friend Ed, You left us with a lifetime of memories, from trips to Detroit for ball games, Ideal Supply Functions and the ball team with years of family fun, road trips to Temagami and Frankenmuth, to conferences, shared as Mayor and Warden. You were always ready for a new adventure, not always at the "Crack of Milk Truck Drivers' Dawn" but you aided in making them fun and memorable! You were a coach, a guide and always encouraging new "Opportunities" for your friends to make this community a better place to raise our children in and make others want to call it home. We had so many more adventures to take Ed, but rest assured, Nancy and your family will always be a part of our Family of Friends. Luv, Sy and Deb

Condolence From: Dave and Sandy Hicknell
Condolence: To me, Ed was a friend, a mentor, a business associate and great statesman for North Perth. Ed was so selfless in everything he did which always seemed to include helping someone else. Ed had a great ability to get people together for common causes, whether it was for public service duties, outings on Georgian Bay, selling cars or choir practice at MoDeans. Ed helped me be a better person by demonstrating his uncanny ability to foresee the best path forward, to the benefit of all, with his kind form of constructive criticism to those who weren't on board yet. Ed's indelible legacy and accomplishments are evident all over North Perth, Perth County ‎and on me. He will be in a special place in my memory for as long as I live. I'm sorry that Sandy and I are unable to join our friends in North Perth to share this very special time and ask that everyone who knew and loved Ed to please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of such a great friend.

Condolence From: Gregg Davidson
Condolence: I first met Ed in March 2006 when he walked into my M&M store in Listowel hearing I had just purchased it. He walked up to me with a big smile and announced, "Hi, I am Ed" and shook my hand. Not being from the area, I had no idea that Ed was the Mayor. Over the years my paths crossed with Ed at various events and even most recently at the store. As I am now a County Councillor in Wellington County, Ed and I would chat politics. He kept encouraging me to keep on trying to make a difference, knowing that it wasn't always easy to march in that path. Ed is now marching a new path brightening up the way with his smile and jolly way.
