Fern Zehr ~ at Caressant Care, Listowel, on Saturday, December 20, 2008, Fern May (Brenneman) Zehr of Listowel, in her 83rd year. Wife of the late Delton Zehr. Mother of Joanne and Don Matthews of Harriston, Jim and Janet Zehr of Deer Creek, Illinois, Doug and Mirian Zehr of Leo, Indiana, Kathy and Dan Carter of Newton, and Fred and Cheryl Zehr of Shakespeare, and mother-in-law of Sandra Zehr of Listowel. Grandmother of Krista and Tony Hale, Chantile and Christopher Taplay, Delton and Roslyn Zehr, Robert and Janelle Zehr, Janelle and Carl Reeb, Jessica and Josh Schuck, Jeremy and Teresa Zehr, Jonathon Zehr and his fiance Kathy, Sherah-leigh and B.J. Gerber, Charissa Zehr, Maria Zehr, Jason and Bonnie Carter, Dennis and Michele Carter, Teresa Carter and her fiance Nathan Morwood, and Erin, Amy, and Alex Zehr, and grandmother-in-law of Bill Cousins. Great-grandmother of Charlotte and Bernie Hale, Thomas, Laura, Harrison, and Gregory Taplay, Felicity and Kyle Zehr, Jenna and Ethan Zehr, Sierra Reeb, Hannah, Joseph, and Emily Schuck, Ben and Emily Carter, and Grayson Carter.
Sister of Iona and Ross Rickert of Waterloo, and sister-in-law of Dolores Brenneman of Guelph, Annie Mae and Nelson Albrecht of Tavistock, Helen Zehr of Stratford, and Carl and Shirley Zehr of Woodstock.
Predeceased by her son Garry Zehr, grandchildren Lisa Cousins and Jeff Matthews, great-grandson Lucas Cousins, sisters Pearl Roth and her husband Curtis, Leona Bingeman and her husband Larry, brothers Earl Brenneman and his wife Agnes, and Lavern Brenneman, and by Delton's sister Jane Zehr and brother Walter Zehr.

Fern was an active member of Listowel Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday School and V.B.S., and was involved in the Women's Group. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and spending time with family.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Listowel Mennonite Church on Monday, December 22nd at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Fred Lichti officiating.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
